The Fashion Fix Finds its way to Nordstrom Grand Opening!
On the 6th day God created Nordstrom. Oh yes He did. Can I get an Amen. Canada welcomed its second Nordstrom store in 6 months and I can assure you the people of this often fashionably forgotten city are thrilled. The upscale fashion retailer kicked off the grand opening with a chic charity pre-gala on March 4. The official opening on March 6, 2015, began with an early bird Beauty Bash from 7:30 – 9:30 AM, for those that wanted to pop over before the store opened its grand doors and partake in one-on-one consultations with beauty experts from across Canada and the United States. Guests that braved the frigid opening day temperatures were treated to specialty blend juices, hot coffee, croisssants and pastries, and a free tote with samples from some of the featured cosmetics lines. Attendees were given the opportunity to meet with experts and get in on buying before the store opened at 10 AM. The usual suspects were on hand, like Clinique, Lancome, MAC and Estée Lauder, but new to Canada lines like Chantecaille and AmorePacific are now available and making their mark. Also present are some rarer brands like Deborah Lippman, Laura Geller and Hanae Mori. Nordstrom has it all.
I was treated to a wonderful hand massage at the AmorePacific beauty bar. The wonderful rep for the South Korean line of cosmetics introduced me to their range of deeply penetrating, bamboo sap infused moisturizing products, including the Treatment Cleansing Oil, the microfoliant Treatment Enzyme Peel, the Rejuvenating Serum, Time Response Eye Renewal Cream, the Time Response Hand Cream and my absolute favourite was their version of a C4 foundation, which stands for Color Control Cushion Compact with SPF 50. I glowed all day and I swear my pores vanished like the days of Hollywood skin pre HDTV.
Thank you Nordstrom and Rideau Centre for hosting a wonderful pre-opening and inviting the residents to have a little glimpse into what is to come and what is already here in fashion and beauty. You hit it out of the park. Ottawa welcomes you with open arms.
