We are all on royal baby watch this week anxiously awaiting the arrival of The Spare . . . oh, and to catch a glimpse of what Kate Middleton will wear when she reveals to the world, Royal Baby X. Will it be this season’s popular floral trend in place of the adorable polka dots she wore to Prince George’s exposé? Or will there be a theme and she’ll come out in a 2015 version of the red dress Diana wore when Harry was presented to the world?
I have to admit that I’ve been on royal style watch for years, lusting after Kate’s look. How many of you found yourself thumbing through the pages of Hello Magazine wondering if you could pull off a fascinator without looking ridiculous? Maybe you’ve torn a page from a magazine to show your hairstylist Kate’s big, beautiful, bouncy, just stepped out of the royal salon hair. Do you find yourself checking out The Duchess’ High Street style with the latest from Topshop, Whistles and Zara, perhaps also seen on Kate Moss and Kate Bosworth with the caption “Which Kate Wore it Best?” Well I say that if it’s good enough for Her Royal Highness, a supermodel, and a trendsetting actress than it’s good enough for me . . . errrr, yes, yes it is.
Dressing the bump posed little more of a challenge to her team of stylists than it would masking the side effects of a gluten intolerance after a night of indulgence at the Olive Garden, complete with the bottomless bread basket. Honestly, she barely looks pregnant, even at 39 weeks. Someone please take the lady out for curry.
Mini bump or not, Kate Middleton always looking stunning and polished to princess-y perfection. The Princess-in-Waiting is ready for whatever the day has in store for her, be that a visit to a prep school, hospital, shaking hands with dignitaries and commoners alike, quick squeeze of Purel, hurdling a stack of tin cans, in wedge heels, in a single bound, or philanthropic work to the far reaches of the globe. No matter what, where or when, she does it in style, with flare and always a smile on her face.
Here are some of my top picks for the best looks of the past 9 months.
