Fringe Factor: Spring 2015
Festival season is upon us with Coachella happening this very weekend. What does that mean besides street meat on a stick, churros, drinks in plastic cups and possibly a few unmentionable substances? Fringe of course, and the designers could not have made it easier for us to find pieces this season. Looking to find your inner hippie? Here is your comprehensive guide on what you want to include in your outdoor festival look? Add fringe, lace, wellies, cool ankle boots or tall gladiator sandals, sunscreen, a floppy hat, glittery headband or floral crown, maybe some of those temporary jewelry tattoos applied to your ankles, feet and/or wrists, and a fringe cross body hobo bag to spice up your style and take you to the event. Oh, and don’t forget your tickets.
Now back to fringe since that’s the emphasis of this post and it’s one of the top trends for spring. Look to the left, to the left, look to the right, look forward, look down the street, and you will see fringe. It’s in the shops and magazines, in street style fashion, in leather, the softest of summer suede and faux versions of each, it’s on bags, jackets, skirts and shoes. All types of fashion items are dripping with swingy tassels this season.
How should you incorporate fringe into your spring look? Here are a few interpretations to give you some style inspiration.
Style tip: pick one piece of fringe and no more. Olivia Palermo gets to break the rules though.

If you missed Coachella, no worries because there is Glastonbury and Amnesia coming in June, Bluesfest in July and Burning Man in September. So you still have plenty of time to get your fringe on and take on the outdoor concert scene by storm.
